EBest: the best!

i have a friend who works for the office of vice mayor teri onor of abucay, and he was assigned to accompany this 6th grader to Eat Bulaga, a noontime show here in the philippines celebrating its 3oyears in showbusiness. the reason why this kid needs to be in the show is that he is among 30 lucky incoming highschool freshmen this year to become scholars of the noontime show. the students were chosen all over the country who graduated as valedictorians/salutatorians, but are impossible to be supported by their parents financially to go to college. Php20,000 as an 'intial' gift to them, lots of school stationaries and supplies, bags, shoes, school and Physical Education uniforms, Php3,000 a month for 4 years, Php,5,000 every month of May for 4 years, a scholarship grant that would pay their tuition fee every year for 4 years, plus a surprise gift every month of May for 4 years.

isn't it nice that people on television here in the philippines are not just thinking about themselves? they believe, just like any other parent, that education is still one of the best things

you could give your child.

here are some on-the-set photos take by my friend:

^ Vic Sotto, one of the pioneers of the show, awards the scholarship...

^ TVJ (Tito, Vic and Joey) pioneers of Eat Bulaga sang for the EBest! scholars...

^ Some premier singers of the country sang for the future...

^ the valedictorian from Abucay, whom my friend accompanied to Ebest, with the singer songwriter Gary Valenciano

the first infinity...

welcome to my first post. as i was trying to think of what to write about for the first time, i saw Susan Boyle's attempt to quit on UK's talent show "Britain's Got Talent" (BGT). she really is an awesome singer, been watching her BGT episode on www.youtube.com and she amazes me. if you'll watch her first attempt to become the chsen one to sing before the Queen, everybody thinks she is just another waste of time. her looks, her stage presence is nothing but a regular person to go on audition.

then she sang "I Dreamed a Dream" from the Les Miserables. hey! everybody stood up for her in an ovation. she got three (3) yes'es from the jurors and she broke the law of "what you see is what you get". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deRF9oEbRso

and NOW, she's quitting? according to sources, Piers Morgan whp is one of the judges told the papers that she (Boyle) tried packing her and leave the hotel where all the contenders are staying because, according to her she is not fond of people butting into her private life. she is not used to photographs

maybe she should not. if she ever does, she is a big lesson for "opportunity knocks"...
